Alyssa joined us at Guildford Animal Hospital in 2015, after graduating from the Animal Health Technology program at Thompson Rivers University. Preventative health and client education is a big passion of Alyssa’s; especially where nutrition and senior pet care is concerned. She wants to help pets, not only have the best quality life possible, but to lengthen how much of that quality time they have with their families. When it comes to pet illnesses, she has seen and experience almost all of it with her own pets, so she can really empathize with what owners are going through.
At home, Alyssa keeps busy with training and competing in agility with both her dogs, Chewie a rescue mix and Cinder a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. Cinder also loves nose work, and dock diving at the cabin in Shuswap. She also has a black cat Cleo who is the queen of the house, and a retired blood donor! When the animals are not keeping her busy, Alyssa enjoys baking and reading.
